Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in /home/sizzling/public_html/ on line 1588

In this lesson we will learn to take a photograph with a partial coloring. This technique helps to focus on a single site to convey the mood of the image and makes lively and compelling. And we will be highlighted in color with Photoshop CS6.

We have a picture with a red box and we need to allocate booth. How to do this quickly and efficiently? There are several ways, but today, we will use the  Color Range , which is located in the “Select”

This feature allows you to select a specific color in your image, or by choosing a base color from the drop down list, or by sampling the colors of your choice. But in most cases, simply select a color from the drop down list is not enough. As you can see in the image below, if you just select the red color, our booth is completely white, and the selection will not be accurate.

Also, if in the “Demo isolation”  (Selection Preview) below to choose Black Matte our selection a little fade.

Therefore, we will use another method – to select the color (Sampled Colors) . This will select several shades of the main color. Press the phone booth, and change the value Fuzziness . The higher the value, the selection will include shades.

Hold down Shift and press the red tones on a box to add them to the selection.

When you select several shades of red, you can see that the area outside of our booth is also highlighted. There are several ways to avoid this. First, as noted above, Fuzzines can help to increase or decrease the number of these colors, which are now included in the selection.

You can also activate the Localized Color Clusters and change the Range Slider . This can help focus your selection around the area with the selected color. Will reduce the value of the range selection around the object.

Even after you’ve set these sliders, you can go back and hold down Shift + click on the area that you may have forgotten to add. Your results will not be 100% perfect, but we’ll work on that later.

When you are satisfied with the result, press the «OK» and invert the selection.

It is best to add an adjustment layer (Adjustment Layer) , to be able to return to the original result.

It also gives us the opportunity to adjust the effect, if necessary. By adjustment layer, you can add a layer mask, and add or remove red color with white and black brush.

All, the image is ready! We hope you found this tutorial, I would like to see your results
